The Glow

We have all heard the saying of “Beauty is skin deep”, well it is.

What you put inside your body has a major effect on your skin. Our skin is the largest organ of the body. Our skin helps us detoxify our internal organs. Helping us flush out the toxins that can create inflammation throughout the body. Having a healthy gut is a major part of having healthy glowing skin. It is important to detoxify the body daily, taking your herbs and exercise plays a major role in “The Glow’.

  • Celery juice has been my go-to for a quick seven-day detox.

  • Celery is a cleansing, diuretic herb that helps eliminate waste products in the body.

  • For seven days I will drink celery juice in the morning and evening. I only eat raw vegetables and water infused with fruits that contain flavonoids. Flavonoids such as lemon and lime help detoxify the gut and aid the digestive system.

  • Flavonoids are a strong antioxidant which helps clean and protect the liver.

  • Taking vitamins such as probiotics will aid in balancing out your hormones in the body to prevent hormonal acne. Adding herbs to your diet is a major key to healthy skin.

  • Burdock root is one of my favorite herbs for detoxing.

  • Burdock roots help eliminate waste in the body and are used to treat conditions caused by an overload of toxins.

  • Burdock root aids in chronic skin problems, helping to relieve inflammation of the skin due to acne and eczema.

  • Burdock root is also used for antibiotic and antiseptic purposes, aiding bodily infection.

  • It is important to eat well just as much as it is important to follow a proper skin care routine.
